Visit Bend
Bend is the ideal place for a family, retirees, or athletically minded folks. During the winter months one can take advantage of the Central Oregon weather and ski for half a day and go for a bike ride, run, or climb at Smith Rocks state park the other half day. Winter is a time for First Friday art walks through town or some of our winter festivals. With Spring and Summer come free outdoor concerts, fantastic paid outdoor family oriented concerts, a float down the river in the middle of the day or when you get out of work, Munch'n Music on Thursdays in Drake Park, First Fridays still happen, our local farmers market, and of course mountain biking and road riding right out your door. And don't forget we have hiking, rock climbing, cave exploring, bouldering, golfing, strolling along one of the many river trails, trail running, or sitting in the park with friends and family for a picnic.
For those who travel for business or pleasure the Bend/Redmond airport is 15 minutes away and offers direct flights to Portland, Seattle, Denver, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, and Phoenix.
If you want a town where you feel part of a community and are needing to attend college, we are home to Oregon State University Cascades Campus, Central Oregon Community College, and many extension programs.
If you are looking for more than outdoor activity, there is always a great film festival, music festival, artists, poets, theater, and good food to be found happening around town.
